The Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá, Colombia will present Mozart and Da Ponte’s “Così fan tutte” this February.

Scheduled for Feb. 21 – 25, 2024, the production will be directed by Marcelo Lombardero with José Areán conducting the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia.

Lombarderos production sets the opera in 1970 in Río de la Plata. The set will be dominated by color, large butterflies, and a large heart with an aim to allude to a TV studio.

The opera will star Nina Solodvnikova, Paola Leguizamón, Juan David González, Pablo Martínez, Manuela Tamayo, and Hernán Itturalde.

This presentation of “Così fan tutte” concludes a series of productions of the Mozart-Da Ponte trilogy at the Teatro Mayo Julio Mario Santo Domingo. The company presented “Don Giovanni” in early 2020 and then showcase “Le Nozze di Figaro” in 2022.
