Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo Celebrates 14th Anniversary With Special Performance
By David SalazarThe Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogotá, Colombia, will present Mahler’s Symphony No. 3 as part of its 14th anniversary celebration.
The showcase is scheduled for May 26, 2024 at 5 p.m. and features the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá under the musical direction of Joachim Gustafsson. They are joined by the Coro Nacional de Colombia, the Coro Filarmónico Juvenil, the Coro Filarmónico Infantil, and mezzo-soprano Ksenia Leonidova.
The Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo opened its doors on May 26, 2010 with a performance featuring the Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá and soprano María Alejandres, tenor Juan José Lopera, and bass-baritone Valeriano Lanchas. Since then, the hall has seen 1,530 programs across 2,120 total performances with over 38,000 artists.
