The Teatro Massimo di Palermo has released a recording of “Manon Lescaut.”

The concert performance, which took place right before the theater closed, showcases Jader Bignamini conducting Anna Pirozzi in the title role, Yusif Eyvazov as Des Grieux, Alessio Arduini as Lescaut, and Luca Dall’Amico as Geronte di Ravoir.

The recording was supported by YouTube – Google Arts & Culture and was produced by Antonio Di Giovanni.

“Manon Lescaut” was released as part of a fundraising campaign for the Italian theater, which was forced to shut down on Oct. 28 due to rising cases of COVID-19 in Italy. The opera will be available for two days only.

The Teatro Massimo di Palermo has canceled all performances for the month of November and is set to return in December.
