By Francisco SalazarThe Dallas Opera has announced the cancelation of its Hart Institute for Women Conductors 10th Anniversary Showcase on Jan. 25, 2026.
The company said that it was forced to cancel the performance due to inclement weather in the North Texas region.
In a statement, Ian Derrer, TDO’s Kern Wildenthal General Director and CEO said, “We were so looking forward to celebrating the Hart Institute’s 10th anniversary this weekend… However, the safety of our artists, audiences, and staff takes precedence. We hope to be able to celebrate this remarkable program in the future.”
The company will contact ticket holders for this concert via email with their options.
According to Weather.com, North Texas will receive a historic, widespread, long-lasting winter storm that will blast parts of the South with destructive ice and heavy snow for millions from the Plains to the Midwest and Northeast. The storm will lead to widespread dangerous travel for days and “catastrophic” ice accumulations.
