
Teatro Grattacielo Reveals 2026 Season
By David SalazarTeatro Grattacielo has unveiled its 32nd season.
The season opens with the staged world premiere of Joseph Summer and Eve Summer’s “The Tempest.” The production team includes conductor Enrico Fagone and director Stefanos Koroneos, with Gregory Pernicone as assistant director. The cast features Daniel Klein as Prospero, Kelly Guerra as Ariel, Maia Gonzalez as Miranda, and Omar Najmi as Ferdinand.
Performance Dates: July 16 & 18, 2026
The season also includes a new revival of Mozart’s “Così fan tutte,” presented in partnership with the Camerata Bardi International Academy. Abdiel Vázquez conducts, with direction by Cate Pisaroni. The production showcases emerging artists from the Academy’s training program.

In November, the company returns to The Flea with a double bill pairing the world premiere of Joshua Daniel Nichols’s “Jefferson Lives! ” with Puccini’s “Suor Angelica.” The program marks America 250 with works that examine freedom through civic and spiritual lenses.

The company will also launch a new initiative: Patron and Public Appreciation Days in June and July 2026. Events will offer open rehearsals, artist meet-and-greets, creative team discussions, and community engagement opportunities.
Following a strong summer, Opera at Gotham Park and Creative Tableaux will continue in the upcoming months, with expanded collaborations planned with schools and community organizations.
Moreover, Teatro Grattacielo revealted that Cate Pisaroni will be the company’s Creative Director, Abdiel Vázquez will be its Music Director, and Enrico Fagone is now Associate Music Director. They will work alongside Artistic and General Director Stefanos Koroneos, Chairman Enzo Pizzimenti, the Board of Directors, and the company’s creative and administrative staff.
