Teatro dell’Opera di Roma to Dedicate Concert to Coronavirus Victims

The Teatro dell’Opera di Roma will perform on June 1 for the Festa della Repubblica.

The concert, which will be conducted by Daniele Gatti, will be dedicated to the memory of the victims of COVID-19 and will be held at the Quirinale gardens with Sergio Mattarella in attendance.

The concert will be transmitted on Rai 1 and Radio 3.

In a statement superintendent Carlo Fuortes said, “We are honored with this invitation and to be able to give the first live concert since the lockdown. It will be an event dedicated to the memory of the victims of the coronavirus with a strong message of hope and rebirth for the musical world.”

The concert will be held without an audience with the organization enforcing all health measures and regulations. The orchestra will only be made up of string instruments and will include music by Mozart, Webern, Vivaldi, and Pärt, among others.
