Teatro dell’Opera di Roma Extends Francesco Giambrone’s Contract
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has announced that Francesco Giambrone will extend his contract as Sovrintendente until 2030.
The extension was decided by the Board of the Fondazione Teatro dell’Opera di Roma presided by Mayor and president of the board Roberto Gualtieri.
Giambrone was named sovrintendente of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in 2021 and previously worked for the Teatro Massimo, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and Conservatorio di Palermo.
In a statement, Giambrone said, “I welcome with sincere emotion the confirmation as Superintendent of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, a position that represents a great honor for me. I thank Minister Giuli, Mayor Gualtieri and the entire Board of Directors for the trust placed in me. I am very happy to continue this experience with the Opera di Roma, a theater that has given me so much and that has within it extraordinary professionals who have been able to participate and be protagonists in a relaunch project of the Foundation over the years, which has given us all great satisfaction. We have shared a vision of theater built on innovation, artistic excellence, openness to new audiences, presence within the urban fabric of the city of Rome, with the aim of making the theater open to all, a tool for cultural growth, inclusion and social accessibility. A vision that has always seen all the Institutions very close to the Theater, starting from the Public Founding Members, the State, the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Rome Capital, and the many Private Individuals who have supported the Foundation in recent years. A vision that we will carry forward in the next five years with the energy, skills and passion of all.”
