The Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, Italy has announced its 2024-25 season.

The season opens with Puccini’s “Tosca” with Massimo Cavalletti, Clarissa Costanzo, and Azer Zada. Henry Kennedy conducts the production by Luca Orsini.

Performance Dates: Nov. 29 & Dec. 1, 2024

Giordano’s “Andrea Chénier” will be directed by Andrea Cigni and will star Michael Spadaccini, Maria Teresa Leva, Federica Vitali, Angelo Veccia, and Kim Gangsoon. Francesco Pasqualetti conducts

Performance Dates: Jan. 17 & 19, 2025

The third opera of the season will be Handel’s “Giulio Cesare” which will be conducted by Ottavio Dantone. The cast will include Raffaele Pe (Giulio Cesare), Marie Lys (Cleopatra), Davide Giangregorio (Achilla), Delphine Galou (Cornelia), Filippo Mineccia (Tolomeo), Federico Fiorio (Sesto), Enrico Torre (Nireno), and Clemente Antonio Daliotti (Curio). Chiara Muti directs.

Performance Dates: Feb. 21 & 23, 2025

The last production of the season will be “Giselle around Le Villi.” Beatrice Venezi conducts the double will which will star Marcelo Alvarez, Anastasia Boldyreva, and Alberto Gazale.
