The Teatro Comunale di Bologna has announced a cast change for its Dec. 23 concert.

The company revealed that Vanessa Goikoetxea will replace Aleksandra Kurzak in “Vier Letzte Lieder.”

Riccardo Frizza will conduct the evening, which will also include a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in e minor.

Goikoetxea’s performance will mark her debut at the Teatro Comunale. She recently sang the piece with Orquesta Filarmonica de Malaga and also already collaborated with Frizza as Vitellia in “La Clemenza di Tito” at ABAO Bilbao. The soprano recently sang the “La Bohème” in Semperoper Dresden and is set to perform “Seven Deaths of Maria Callas” at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona.

Kurzak is set to close the year at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona in a production of “La Bohème.“
