Teatro Colón Reopens With Concert Series Celebrating Astor Piazzolla’s Birthday Centennial

The Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires has announced its reopening.

The theater will present, in association with the Astor Piazzolla Foundation, a cycle of performances celebrating the centennial of Piazzola’s birth. The 14-concert series is set to take place between March 5 through 20.

It all kicks off with a concert featuring the Orquesta Estable del Teatro Colon performing in a concert entitled “Piazzolla Sinfónico.” This concert will be followed by other performances featuring internationally renowned artists dedicated to the music of the famed Argentine legend who was born on March 11, 1921.

The theater will implement rigid sanitary protocols to ensure that audience members are protected at all times. All attendees are required to wear face masks at all times.

Tickets will be sold online. Those unable to attend will get an opportunity to watch subsequent streams of the concert series.
