Teatro Cervantes has announced the second edition of Opera Studio Malaga.

Opera Studio Malaga is a professional training program aimed at performers 18-35 who wish to further their education in a professional environment. Participants will work with leading coaches on vocal technique, interpretation, and role preparation. During its first run in 2023, Opera Studio Malaga saw coaches such as baritone Carlos Álvarez, conductor Carlos Aragón, and director Emilio Sagi.

Opera Studio Malaga culminates in a fully staged performance of Bizet’s”Don Procopio,” directed by Mario Gas. The perform will feature the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and the Teatro Cervantes Choir at Teatro Cervantes.

The training period will take place from Nov. 3 to Dec. 6. The organization offers participants single occupancy rooms and full board throughout the program.

The call for applications is open through Feb. 15.
