Teatro Carlo Felice Postpones ‘Il nome della Rosa;’ Replaces Production with ‘Tosca’

By Francisco Salazar

The Teatro Carlo Felice has postponed “Il nome della Rosa” for a future season,

The company said that Francesco Filidei’s work, which was scheduled for April 2026, will be replaced by “Tosca.”

The company added, “It was a difficult choice, matured after a careful analysis of the construction costs: the economic and productive complexity of the setup would, in fact, have an impact on the unsustainable moment. In an optic of managerial responsibility and protection of the work of the artistic masses, it was therefore considered more appropriate to postpone the title, in order to guarantee a staging that is up to the artistic project co-produced with the Teatro alla Scala and the Opéra National de Paris and the expectations of the audience.

The “Tosca” production that will be performed comes from the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and will star Anastasia Bartoli, Carmen Giannattasio, Valentina Boi, Giorgio Berrugi, Carlo Ventre, Lucas Meachem, and Ivan Inverardi.

Giuseppe Finzi conducts the production by Alessandro Talevi and will run between April 10 and 19, 2026.
