The Teatro alla Scala has announced a cast change for its upcoming performances of “Norma.”

Soprano Marina Rebeka took to social media and noted that she has withdrawn from the July 11 performance of the title role.

“”Dear friends, I am so sorry to announce that I will not be able to sing tomorrow’s performance of Norma at Teatro alla Scala. Luckily it seems to be just a mild issue and I just need a couple of days of rest. So see you on 17th for the last show… In the meantime toi toi toi and mille grazie to amazing Marta Torbidoni!”

As noted, Marta Torbidoni will take on the title, which she will also perform on July 14. She joins a cast that includes Freddie de Tommaso,  Antonio Poli, Michele Pertusi, Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, Laura Lolita Perešivana, and Paolo Antongnetti.

Torbidoni has performed at such venues as Teatro Regio di Parma, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Donizetti di Bergamo, Auditorium Caruso di Torre del Lago, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Teatro Bellini di Catania, Municipal Theatre in Sao Paolo, Palau della Musica in Valencia, Opera House di Tenerife, Teatro Principal in Minorca, and Palacio Euskalduna in Bilbao, among others.
