The Teatro alla Scala has announced a cast change for its production of “Cavalleria Rusticana.”

The company said that Saioa Hernández will sing the role of Santuzza on April 30, May 2, and 5, 2024 replacing Ekaterina Semenchuk who was originally announced.

Hernández has performed at La Scala on numerous occasions including productions of “Attila,” “Tosca,” and “La Gioconda.” She is set to make her role debut as Santuzza in the upcoming performances.

She is set to join a cast that includes Brian Jagde, Yusif Eyvazov, Amartuvshin Enkhbat, and Roman Burdenko. Giampaolo Sagripanti conducts the production by Mario Martone. Elīna Garanča also stars as Santuzza.
