Alexey Markov has canceled the final performance of Bizet’s “Carmen” at the Semperoper Dresden. The company announced that Markov would be unable to perform due to illness. As a result, Jochen Kupfer will sing the role of Escamillo in the performance on June 8, 2019. Kupfer recently performed at the Nurnberg Staatstheater, and Teatro Verdi.
