Sydney Eisteddfod is still set to open on May 23, 2020.

The Festival’s organizers noted in a press release that they are going to enter into the planning stage in coming weeks with the interest of opening the festival as planned.

“We will monitor this rapidly evolving situation constantly and will take our direction from the advice and directives provided by the Australian Commonwealth, NSW Government and Live Performance Australia.” The competition’s organizers stated.

Sydney Eisteddfod is a major international competition that showcases over 35,000 entrants in 300 events that range across dance, drama, music and song to win over $40,000 annually in cash prizes and scholarships. Entrants have until March 23 to submit their applications.

“We are still asking people to enter as usual,” Sydney Eisteddfod CEO, Piroozi Desai-Keane added. “Should Sydney Eisteddfod find itself in a position where it needs to postpone or cancel event/s then we will be in touch with advice about refunds or other options.”
