Stockton Symphony to Present ‘Messiah’

The Stockton Symphony Orchestra is set to celebrate the holiday season with Händel’s “Messiah” on Dec. 4, 2021.

The orchestra, based in California, will be conducted by Peter Jaffe and will feature soloists soprano Liisa Dávila, mezzo-soprano Monica Danilov, tenor Daniel Ebbers, and baritone Ralph Cato. The Stockton Chorale will be directed by Bruce Southard.

The concert will feature Händel’s “Messiah” as well as a Christmas portion with additional numbers.

Dávila is an acclaimed coloratura who has performed at the Stockton Opera, Townsend Opera, and San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra. Danilov has performed at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo in Bogota and the Teatro Colon in Bogota.

Ebbers joined the faculty of the University of the Pacific and recently performed at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, and Sacramento Opera. Meanwhile, Cato has performed with Opera Pacific, the Lisbon Opera, and the Sinfonietta’s Swiss tour.
