Stile Antico will celebrate its 20th season by honoring the 500th anniversary of Renaissance polyphony, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.

The concert will be presented on March 29 at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin and will include some of the composer’s most beloved and timeless motets, gems by other leading composers active in Rome at that time, and a new work by British composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad, written especially for this occasion.

Among the piece by Palestrina that will be performed include Cantantibus organis, Exultate Deo, Laudate Dominum a 12, Missa Papae Marcelli: Credo, Nigra sum sed formosa, Sicut cervus, Super flumina Babylonis, and Tu es Petrus.

Stile Antico is one of the world’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles. Working without a conductor, its twelve members have thrilled audiences on four continents with their fresh, vibrant, and moving performances of Renaissance polyphony.
