Stage Access to Stream Anna Netrebko’s ‘Tosca’ on Opera’s Anniversary

Streaming platform Stage Access is set to stream a production of Puccini’s “Tosca” from the Vienna State Opera starting on Jan. 14, 2023.

The production, which stars Anna Netrebko and took place on Dec. 13, 2020, is being presented in commemoration of the 123rd anniversary of the world premiere of the famed opera; Puccini’s work had its first performance on Jan. 14, 1900 in Rome. Netrebko is joined by Yusif Eyvazov as Cavaradossi and Wolfgang Koch as Scarpia.

This 2020 production features a production by Margarethe Wallmann and is conducted by Betrand de Billy. For the broadcast, Stage Access will feature Kelsey Grammer as the host.

Stage Access will also broadcast a 4K recording of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which features music by Mendelssohn and Ligeti.
