Staastheater Wiesbaden Postpones Opening of ‘The Queen of Spades’ Due to COVID-19

The Staastheater Weisbaden has postponed the opening of its new production of “The Queen of Spades.”

The company noted that due to COVID-19 precautions, the organization was forced to delay the opening of the production which will now open on Jan. 29, 2022.

In a statement, the company said, “due to the measures decided by the Prime Ministers’ Conference and based on the current Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of Hesse, the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden has to continue to restrict its performances.”

The new restrictions will also see the postponement of the premiere of “Die Schlacht am Mackie Creek.”

The Staatstheater Wiesbaden has been closed for a few weeks and has canceled all performances until Jan. 28, 2022 in the large and small house of the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden. 

“The Queen of Spades” is set to star Aaron Cawley, Thomas de Vries, Benjamin Russell, Elena Bezgodkova, and Silvia Hauer.
