Sophie Koch To Make Latin American Debut

Sophie Koch is set to make her Latin American debut in the Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier.”

The acclaimed mezzo-soprano will replace the originally scheduled Jurgita Adamonyte, who is ill.

Koch is well-known for her portrayal of Octavian, which she has performed at the Baden-Baden Festival, Semperoper Dresden, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro alla Scala, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Salzburg Festival.

Koch stars alongside Celine Byrne, Jürgen Linn, Patricio Sabaté, and  Elbenita Kajtazi. Alejandro Chacon directs the acclaimed production, which was first produced at the Teatro Mayor in Colombia and Maximiano Valdés conducting. The production is also set to star Paulina González, Johannes Stermann, Evelyn Ramírez, and Catalina Bertucci in the second cast.

Performances are set between June 12 and 19, 2019.
