Sony Classical Announces Jonas Kaufmann’s Latest Album ‘DOPPELGÄNGER’

Sony Classical has announced Jonas Kaufmann’s next album, “DOPPELGÄNGER.”
The new album will be a DVD and CD and will include Schumann’s Dichterliebe & Kerner-Lieder and six Bonus Tracks.
The album was recorded with Kaufmann’s longtime collaborator, Helmut Deutsch.
The physical edition will also include a DVD of the Park Avenue Armory performances of “DOPPELGÄNGER,” which were directed by Claus Guth. Of the performances, OperaWire said, “Jonas Kaufmann & Helmut Deutsch Shine in Claus Guth’s Unique Take on Schubert’s ‘Schwangesang.”
The album will be released on Sept. 5, 2025, and the first single “Im wunderschönen Monat Mai” will be available on June 13, 2025.
This marks Kaufmann’s latest album with Sony Classical after his “Puccini: Love Affairs” album and “The Sound of Movies.” Other recent releases include “Parsifal” from the Wiener Staatsoper and “Insieme: Opera Duets.”
