The Teatro real de Madrid has announced the operas that will broadcast live in cinemas.

In partnership with Cine Yelmo, the company will present four productions in 27 theaters.

The season will open with Puccini’s “Manon Lescaut,” conducted by Nicola Luisotti and directed by Carlos Wagner. The cast is headlined by Sondra Radvanovsky, Michael Fabiano, Lucas Meachem, Pietro Spagnoli, and Alejandro del Cerro.

Cinema Date: Oct. 8, 2026

Verdi’s “Simon Boccanegra” will be performed in a production by Pierre Audi and conducted by Nicola Luisotti. Ludovic Tézier, Hrachuhí Bassénz, Francesco Meli, and Gianluca Buratto star.

Cinema Date: Jan. 8, 2027

Bellini’s “Norma” will be presented in a production by Justin Way and conducted by Francesco Lanzillotta. Lidia Fridman, Javier Camarena, Aigul Akhmetshina, and Riccardo Fassi star.

Cinema Date: April 22, 2027

Wagner’s “Tannhäuser” concludes the cinema series in a production by David Hermann. Gustavo Gimeno, conducts a cast that includes Clay Hilley, Malin Byström, Ludovic Tézier, Ausrine Stundyte, Georg Zeppenfeld, and Cassandre Berthon.
