Sondra Radvanovsky, Lise Davidsen, Juan Diego Flórez, Ying Fang Headline Royal Opera House’s 2024-25 Cinema Season

The Royal Opera and Ballet has announced its 2024-25 cinema season. Our focus will be on the opera showcases.

“Opera is perhaps the most visceral and emotionally-charged artform, and I am so glad that our cinema audiences will be able to experience our work with us this Season, particularly with three live opera broadcasts. With an extraordinary group of cast and creatives behind each show, it is going to be a fantastic Season on the big screen,” said Oliver Mears, Director of The Royal Opera.

The first opera to hit the silver screen will be “The Marriage of Figaro” starring Ying Fang, Luca Micheletti, Huw Montague Rendall, and Jacquelyn Stucker. Julia Jones conducts.

Screening Dates: Sept. 10, 2024 (live) / Sept. 15, 2024 (encore)

Damiano Michieletto directs “The Tales of Hoffmann” with Juan Diego Flórez in the title role alongside Alex Esposito, Olga Pudova, Marina Costa-Jackson, and Ermonela Jaho.

Screening Dates: Jan. 15, 2025 (live) / Jan. 19, 2025 (encore)

Then comes “Turandot,” headlined by Sondra Radvanovsky, Seokjong Baek, Anna Princeva, and Adam Palka. Rafael Payare conducts Andrei Serban’s production.

Screening Dates: April 1, 2025 (live) / April 6, 2025 (encore)

Lise Davidsen, Elsabet Strid, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, and Christopher Maltman star in “Die Walküre” with Antonio Pappano conducting Barrie Kosky’s production.

Screening Dates: May 14, 2025 (live) / May 18, 2025 (encore)
