The Lyric Opera of Chicago has announced its 2026-27 season.

Christian Van Horn and Kyle Ketelsen lead Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” with Mané Galoyan, Nina Solodovnikova, Lawrence Brownlee, Tommaso Barea, Anna El-Khashem, Christopher Humbert, Jr., and David Leigh. Enrique Mazzola conducts the production by Robert Falls.

Performance Dates: Oct. 10-Nov. 1, 2026

Rhiannon Giddens and Michael Abels’s “Omar” will star Issachah Savage, Kearstin Piper Brown, Zoie Reams, and Kyle Ketelsen. Kazem Abdullah conducts the production by Kaneza Schaal.

Performance Dates: Jan. 22 & 23, 2027

Jules Massenet’s “Hérodiade: An Opera in Concert” will star Clémentine Margaine, Federica Lombardi, Igor Golovatenko, and Piero Pretti . Enrique Mazzola conducts.

Performance Dates: Feb. 23 & 28, 2027

Leah Hawkins, Erin Morley, Samantha Hankey, Zachary Nelson, and Russell Thomas star in Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos.” John Cox’s production will be conducted by Oksana Lyniv.

Performance Dates: March 11-26, 2027

Verdi’s “La traviata” will be conducted by Enrique Mazzola and Tess Jackson. The cast will include Yaritza Véliz as Violetta Valéry, Liparit Avetisyan as Alfredo Germont, and Amartuvshin Enkhbat and Kidon Choi as Giorgio Germont.

Performance Dates: March 24-April 25, 2027

Carlisle Floyd’s iconic American opera “Susannah” will be conducted by Daniela Candillari and directed by Patricia Racette. The cast will include Gabriella Reyes, Ryan Speedo Green, Frederick Ballentine, Catherine Martin, Wayne Tigges, Travon D. Walker, and Matthew Cairns.

Performance Dates: April 11-23, 2027

Sondra Radvanovsky & SeokJong Baek perform in Concert with Riccardo Frizza conducting.

Performance Dates: April 30 & May 2, 2027

The season culminates with Frank Loesser’s “Guys & Dolls.” Francesca Zambello directs and James Lowe conducts.

Performance Dates: June 4-20, 2027

The season will also include “Park with Lyric, The Ryan Opera Center Final Auditions, and Rising Stars in Concert as well as “Encanto” and “Amadeus.”
