On Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 9:15 p.m., Sky Classica is set to present the broadcast premiere of “Le Siège de Corinthe.”

The new production comes from the 2026 Rossini Opera Festival and was conducted by Carlo Rizzi. The cast included Vasilisa Berzhanskaya (Pamyra), Adrian Sâmpetrean (Mahomet II), Maxim Mironov (Néoclès), Matteo Roma (Cléomène), Simón Orfila (Hièros), Tianxuefei Sun (Adraste), Giuseppe De Luca (Omar), and Anna-Doris Capitelli (Ismène).

Davide Livermore directs the production.

OperaWire raved about the opera and said, “Vasilisa Berzhanskaya was the great protagonist as the confused yet heroic Pamyra, distinguished by a broad, powerful, dark voice, particularly rich in the middle and upper registers. The Russian soprano’s high notes, also beautifully sung and securely placed, stood out from the rest of the cast in the ensemble passages.”
