Sittopera Unveils 2020-21 Season

Sittopera, a company based in South Africa, has announced its schedule for the 2020-21 season.

It all commences with a concert performance featuring tenor Sipho Fubesi at the Rand Club.

Streaming Date: Oct. 24, 2020

The company will then present “400 Years of Opera in 40 minutes” with Harald Sitta exploring his favorite operas and recordings.

Streaming Date: October 2020

Next up will be “First beheaded, then hung up,” a showcase featuring opera, operetta, and musicals.

Streaming Date: November 2020

The company will close out 2020 with a performance featuring mezzo-soprano Monica Mhangwana.

Streaming Date: December 2020

Soprano Amy Mannheimer will present the company’s first showcase of 2021.

Streaming Date: February 2021

There will be a gala with around 15 singers set for the Rand Club.

Streaming Date: March 2021

There will also be “The -innis and the -ettis” with Roche Bobois.

Streaming Date: October 2021

The company also announced plans for several other projects including “Opera Angels” with Dr. Lisa Engelbrecht, two events in Mauritius, two events with Megan Kahts in Vienna, and performances of “Così Fan Tutte,” “Maria Stuarda,” and “Die Walküre” sometime in 2021.
