Simon O’Neill & Anja Kampe Lead San Francisco Opera’s ‘Tristan und Isolde’

San Francisco Opera is set to present Richard Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde.”

The opera is set to be presented between Oct. 19 and Nov. 5 for five performances under the baton of Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim. Paul Curran makes his company debut directing a cast that will be led by Wagnerian interpreters Simon O’Neill and Anja Kampe in the title roles.

They will be joined by Kwangchul Youn, Annika Schlicht, Christopher Oglesby, Thomas Kinch, and Samuel Kidd.

O’Neill is a former Merola Opera Program and Kampe made her San Francisco Opera debut in 2011 and has performed at the Vienna State Opera, Munich’s Bavarian State Opera, Berlin’s State Opera and Teatro Colón.

The opera will be live streamed on Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. and will also be available to watch on demand for 48 hours beginning on Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. PT.
