Simon Keenlyside Stars in Cleveland Orchestra’s 2023 International Tour

The Cleveland Orchestra and baritone Simon Keenlyside led by Music Director Franz Welser-Möst will begin their international tour this October.

The group will perform five concerts throughout Austria and Israel. This will be Cleveland Orchestra’s Israel debut and the first American orchestra to visit the country since 2018. The musicians and staff will work with local students, musicians, and community members, facilitating a cultural and educational exchange.

Keenlyside will perform the following works by Mahler in each concert: “Frühlingsmorgen” from ‘Lieder und Gesänge aus der Jugendzeit,’ “Ablösung im Sommer” from ‘Des Knaben Wunderhorn,’ “Revelge” from “Des Knaben Wunderhorn,” “Urlicht” from “Des Knaben Wunderhorn,” “Rheinlegendchen” from “Des Knaben Wunderhorn,” and “Hans und Grete” from “Lieder und Gesänge aus der Jugendzeitserve.” Welser-Möst conducts.

The first stop is in Vienna at the Konzerthaus beginning at 7:30 pm.

Performance Date: Oct. 18, 2023 (Vienna), Oct. 20, 2023 (Linz), Oct. 26, 2023 (Haifa), Oct. 27, 2023 (Tel Aviv), Oct. 28, 2023 (Jerusalem)
