Grange Park Opera has announced its 2025 summer slate.

First up is “Simon Boccanegra” starring Sir Simon Keenlyside, Elin Pritchard, Otar Jorjikia, and James Creswell. Gianluca Marciano and Mark Shanahan conduct a production by David Pountney; Robin Tebbutt is the revival director.

Per the company’s official website, Keenlyside’s performances are sponsored by Ruth Markland and “Come in quest’ora bruna” is sponsored by Nick & Lesley Dumbreck. The production is sponsored by a syndicate led by David and Amanda Leathers.

Performance Dates: June 5 – July 11, 2025

Hye-Youn Lee (sponsored by David and Clare Kershaw) headlines “Madama Butterfly.” Kitty Whately (sponsored by Anthony and Carolyn Townsend) takes on Suzuki. The cast also features Luis Gomes and Rosss Ramgobin as Pinkerton and Sharpless, respectively. Stephen Barlow conducts and John Doyle directs.

Per the official website, “The Humming Chorus” is sponsored by Prof Martin Brown & Dr Sue Brown and “Tu, tu piccolo Iddio” is sponsored by Tessa & John Manser.

Performance Dates: June 7 – July 5, 2025

“Mazeppa” gets a David Pountney production with Martin Brabbins conducting. The cast stars David Stout, Luciano Batinic, Sara Fulgoni, Rachel Nicholls, and John Findon, among others.

The production is in co-production with English National Opera and sponsored by a syndicate led by Natasha Tsukanova. The Gopak dance sponsored anonymously, per the company’s official website.

Performance Dates: June 14 – July 6, 2025

Ending the season is sitarist Nishat Khan’s “Taj Mahal,” which explores how the emperor’s grief over the loss of his wife results in the Taj Mahal. Khan improvises on the sitar and provides narration. The cast stars Hanif Khan, Ross Ramgobin, Victoria Simmonds, Caspar Singh, Julia Sitkovetsky, Elizabeth Karani, and James Shouten, among others. George Jackson conducts the Gascoigne Orchestra. Stephen Medcalf directs.
