Australian soprano Nicole Car, will perform alongside her husband, French-Canadian baritone Étienne Dupuis, in a Verdi Gala in Melbourne at Opera Australia.

The gala will be held on April 30 and May 4, 2025 at Hamer Hall with the repertory spotlighting the operas of Giuseppe Verdi.

The duo will be joined by tenor Paul O’Neill, and the gala will be hosted by Greta Bradman, who will offer up commentary and insight throughout on Verdi’s work. The Orchestra Victoria will be conducted by Alexander Briger.

This season, Car performed Amelia in “Un Ballo in Maschera” at the Bayerische Staatsoper and Elisabetta in “Don Carlo” at the Wiener Staatsoper. She has also performed the roles of Desdemona in “Otello” and Amelia in “Simon Boccanegra.”
