Silkroad has announced the participants and performances who will take part in the 2023 Global Musician Workshop at New England Conservatory. The workshop runs from August 6-12, 2023.

For the third consecutive year, Silkroad and New England Conservatory (NEC) are partnering to present the Global Musician Workshop (GMW). The 2023 program includes seven days of professional development workshops and a multi-night Performance Festival featuring Silkroad artists, NEC faculty, special guests, and GMW participants. Performances are open to the public.

Participants will take part in professional development programs including group workshops, play-along jam sessions, panel discussions, topic-based elective classes, and more—all representing a wide range of backgrounds and traditions from around the world.

The 70 musicians chosen represent 25 countries and 26 instruments were chosen from a pool of 175 applicants. Among the vocalists are Anastasiya Voytyuk, Ukraine; Carolina Sena, Argentina; Iyabode Johnson, Sierra Leone; Mahya Hamedi and Roksana Sarrafi, Iran; Maria Mendez Ramirez, Russia; Nicole Lopez, USA/Colombia; and Erin Guinup, Erin Hogan, Kate Krontiris, and Laith Alattar, USA.
