Semperoper Dresden is set to present Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” starting on Jan. 23, 2022.

The production, which will be directed by Josef E. Köpplinger will be conducted by Michele Gamba.

The opera will star George Zeppenfeld as Sarastro with Christina Poulitsi as the Queen of the Night. In the role of Tamino, Mauro Peter will make his company debut. Nikola Hillbrand will make her role debut as Pamina.

The remaining cast members include Bernhard Hansky, Camila Ribero-Souza, Justyna Ołów, Nicole Chirka, Timothy Oliver, Lawson Anderson, Alice Rossi, Mateusz Hoedt, Khanyiso Gwenxane, Gerald Hupach, Rupert Grössinger; Ołów, Anderson, and Grössinger will all be making their respective role debuts.

The opera is set to run through June 8, 2022 for a total of 11 performances.
