Semperoper Dresden Announces Cast Change for ‘La Sonnambula’

The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for its production of Bellini’s “La Sonnambula.”

The company said that Marco Ciaponi will sing the role of Elvino on May 1 replacing Maxim Mironov.

Ciaponi Marco has performed at the Wiener Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper am Rhein as well as at the Opéra Grand Avignon, Opéra de Limoges, Opéra de Metz, Opéra de Reims, Teatro delle Muse in Ancona. He has also performed at the Teatro La Fenice in Venezia, Teatro Verdi in Parma, Arena di Verona, Dutch National Opera, and Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

The tenor is set to join a cast that will include Bogdan Talos, Reut Ventorero, and Emily Pogorelc. Evelino Pidò conducts the production by Rolando Villazón.
