Semperoper Dresden Announces Cast Change for ‘La Bohème’

The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for its production of “La Bohème.”

The company said that Claudia Pavone will take over the role of Mimi for performances on Feb. 2 and 3 under the baton of Giedrė Šlekytė.

The Semperoper Dresden performances will mark Pavone’s house debut in Dresden. The Italian soprano has performed at the Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro La Fenice in Venice,Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, and the Macerata Opera Festival. Her repertoire includes such roles as Micaela, Gilda, Donna Elvira, Violetta, Juiliette, Liù, Norina, Mimi, and Adina, among others.

Pavone is set to join a cast that includes Nikola Hillebrand, Jonathan Tetelman, and Alexey Markov on Feb. 2 and Galeano Salas on Feb. 3, 2023.
