The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for “Aida.”

The company noted that Stefano La Colla will step in for Francesco Meli as Radamès for the performances on March 17 and 20, 2022.

La Colla has performed at the Teatro alla Scala, Arena di Verona, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and Teatro Carlo di Napoli, as well as in Berlin, Hamburg, Toulon, München, Leipzig, St. Petersburg and Baden-Baden.

La Colla joins a cast that includes Andreas Bauer Kanabas, Oksana Volkova, Krassimira Stoyanova, Georg Zeppenfeld, Quinn Kelsey, and Simeon Esper. Christian Thielemann conducts the new production by Katharina Thalbach.

The March 17 and 20 performances mark the final two performances of the spring production. “Aida” will be revived in July with a new cast headed by Maria José Siri.
