Savannah VOICE Festival Announces 10th Anniversary Season

The Savannah VOICE Festival has announced its lineup for its highly anticipated 2022 10th Anniversary Season.

The season opens with “Swinging Into the Season” featuring the Elite Party Band and selected Artists of Season 10. There will also be an opening night reception.

Performance Date: August 7, 2022

VOICES in Song will feature its tradition of a night that celebrates the art of song. From German Lied to American Songbook, ten selected 2022 SVF artists will transport you to another world!

Performance Date: August 9, 2022

Elizabeth Baldwin and Howard Watkins perform in recital.

Performance Date: August 10, 2022

Sherrill Milnes, world renowned baritone & co-founder of the Milnes VOICE Programs, offers his expertise to a new generation of singers in a master class setting.

Master Class Date: August 11 

Menotti’s “The Medium” will feature the Milnes VOICE Study Grant Artists with Andrew Bisantz conducting and Chad Sonka directing.

Performance Dates: August 11, 2022 at 6pm & 8pm

Jorge Parodi, conductor & Artistic Director of the Milnes VOICE Programs, gives a free master class.

Master class Date: August 12, 2022

“Alice Ryley, a Savannah ghost story & Anna Hunter, the spirit of Savannah” will be world premiered with Andrew Bisantz conducting and Joe Winskye directing.

Performance Dates: August 12 & 13, 2022

“Coffee Concert Series I” will feature a “cuppa,” a pastry and a song (or two) at the beautiful Davenport Museum Gardens and the new Kennedy Pharmacy.

Performance Date: August 13, 2022

VOICES in Sacred Song with Timothy L. Hall and the 2022 Festival Artists will performances of oratorio and sacred texts.

Performance Date: August 14, 2022

Opera Movie Night will see Puccini’s “Tosca” with Sherrill Milnes, Plácido Domingo, and Raina Kabavianka. Audiences will hear the director’s comments live, and Milnes will provide insight and exciting stories about the filming of this opera film.

Screening Date: August 15, 2022

Next is “Return to Brigadoon: A Celebration of the Lerner & Loewe Classic” with Music Director Justin Havard.

Performance Dates: August 16 & 18, 2022

Maria Zouves, director & co-founder of the Milnes VOICE Programs, will give a master class.

Master Class Date: August 17, 2022

“Be My Love – A Mario Lanza Tribute” will star Peter Lake, ​Kyaunnee Richardson, and Justin Havard.

Performance Date: August 17, 2022

James Morris, world renowned bass-baritone, will give a master class.

Master Class Date: August 19, 2022

Gounod’s “Faust” will be conducted by Jorge Parodi and directed by Fabrizio Melano.

Performance Date: August 19, 2022

There will be more installments of “Coffee Concert Series I,” featuring a “cuppa,” a pastry and a song (or two) at the beautiful Davenport Museum Gardens and the new Kennedy Pharmacy.

The 2022 Festival 10th Anniversary Gala Concert will be an “Evening with Flicka.” Frederica von Stade and Dan Gettinger will perform a recital.
