Sasha Cooke, Rodrick Dixon, Kelley O’Connor, & Matthew Polenzani Lead Aspen Music Festival 2023 Summer Livestreams

The 2023 Aspen Music Festival has released its livestream lineup.

All livestreamed performances are free and will be available on the AMFS virtual stage website. This article will focus solely on vocal performances.

LA Opera’s James Conlon leads Sasha Cooke and Rodrick Dixon in “Conlon Conducts Mendelssohn, Mahler.” Cooke and Dixon present Mahler’s “Das Lied von der Erde.”

Performance Date: July 23, 2023

Grammy Award-winning mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor serves as the soloist in Mahler’s “Symphony No. 3 in D minor.” The AOTVA Treble Chorus and the Colorado Children’s Chorale will also be heard. Robert Spano conducts.

Performance Date: July 30, 2023

Next is Mozart’s “Idomeneo,” starring tenor Matthew Polenzani. He is joined on stage by the artist-fellows of the Aspen Opera Theater and VocalARTS program. Francesca Zambello directs while Spano conducts.

Performance Date: Aug. 17, 2023 

The final livestreamed concert of the season is Haydn’s “The Creation.” Soloists include soprano Kresley Figueroa, tenor Matthew Goodheart, and bass-baritone Joseph Park. They are joined by the professional choral ensemble Seraphic Fire and the Aspen Festival Orchestra under Spano’s baton.
