Music Academy of the West has announced its 2025 summer season. Here is a rundown of the vocal performances on offer.

Sasha Cooke headlines a Mozart and Ravel chamber music program alongside pianist Jeremy Denk and clarinetist Richie Hawley. Also performing on the concert is the Takács Quartet and cellist Julie Albers.

Performance Date: June 26, 2025

Mozart’s “Don Giovanni” will be presented by the Lehrer Vocal Institute. Mo Zhou directs and Christian Reif conducts.

Performance Dates: July 18 & 20, 2025

Sasha Cooke will headline a program that showcases the works of Huang Ruo and Kamala Sankaram. She is joined by John Churchwell and violinist Helen Kim.

Performance Date: July 25, 2025

Soprano Christine Goerke will headline Berlioz’s “La Mort de Cléopâtre” in a program centered around Ravel’s “Bolero.” Stéphane Denève conducts the program which includes the Academy Festival Orchestra.

Performance Date: August 2, 2025

The Marilyn Horne Song Competition and Duo Competition winners will present a final recital.

Performance Date: August 8, 2025

Julia Holoman is the vocal soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 3, performed by the Academy Festival Orchestra and conducted by Miguel Harth-Bedoya.

Performance Date: August 9, 2025
