SAS Performing Arts Presents ‘Emerald Opera Gala Concert’

SAS Performing Arts Company and Studios Inc. has announced its “Emerald Opera Gala Concert.”

Performers include sopranos Monica Camafreita, Rebecca Grady Rucker, Rebecca Kidnie, and Gillian Watson, mezzo-soprano Perri Sussman and Victoria Thomasch, tenors Charles Calotta, Christopher Trapani, and Thomas Walters, baritone Muir Ingliss, and basses Matt Mueller and Virdell Williams. They will present excerpts from Verdi’s “Don Carlo,” Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde,” Mozart’s “Così fan Tutte,” Strauss’ “Ariadne auf Naxos,” and Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda.”

Mary Pinto joins them at the piano.

Next up for the company is its 5th annual Vocal Competition. The competition focuses on recognizing and creating opportunities for emerging artists. Past winners have gone on to work with major companies across Europe and the United States, including The Metropolitan Opera, Tulsa Opera, Florida Grand Opera, The English National Opera, and Staatsoper Berlin.

The “Emerald Opera Gala Concert” takes place on March 17 at 3 p.m. at Christ and St. Stephen’s Church in NYC.
