Sarasota Opera Cancels ‘La Fille du Regiment’ Performance Due to COVID-19

The Sarasota Opera has canceled its Saturday performance on Feb. 26 of “La Fille du Regiment.”

The released a statement noting that “Saturday’s performance of ‘The Daughter of the Regiment’ has been canceled due to breakthrough COVID exposures in the Chorus. Ticketholders can reschedule for another date or request a refund.”

This is the second performance canceled this week due to COVID. The company also canceled its performance of “Tosca” on Feb. 24.

“La Fille du Regiment” is set to return to the stage on March 1 with a cast that includes Jessica Sandidge, William Davenport, Matthew Hanscom, Lisa Chavez, Jake Stamatis, and Patrick Scully. Jesse Martins conducts the production by Mark Freiman.

The opera is set to run through March 18, 2022.
