Sara Gartland to Perform at Central City Opera’s ‘Theatre of Dreams’ Gala

Central City Opera has announced its 2024 “Theatre of Dreams” Gala honoring the legacy of Judy and Newell Grant will star American soprano, Sara Gartland.

The evening’s highlights include a cocktail hour, dinner and dessert, an auction, and entertainment by Sara Gartland. The 2024 Gala commemorates former Chair of the Board of Directors Judy Grant, who passed in 2020. Central City Opera pays tribute to her exceptional contributions to which left a profound impact on the organization, and the continued success of the 92-year-old organization. Newell Grant continues to uphold the organization’s values through his work on the Board of Directors.

The Gala is set to take place on April 5, at the Cable Center at Denver University.

Highlights of Gartland’s 2023-24 season include a return to Des Moines Metro Opera her debut performance of Strauss’ title character Salome, in a new production conducted by David Neely and directed by Nathan Troupe. Last season she performed at Pittsburgh Opera in the title role of Rusalka, as Nedda in Opera San Antonio’s “Pagliacci,” and in Minnesota Opera’s production of “Don Giovanni” as Donna Elvira.
