Ana María Martínez, Rafael Davila, Eve Gigliotti, Lauryn Davis, Karah Son Headline Pittsburgh Opera’s 2024-25 Season

Pittsburgh Opera has announced its 2024-25 season.

The season opens with “Tosca.” Ana María Martínez stars alongside Kyle Albertson. Antony Walker conducts and Tara Faircloth directs.

The performances will take place at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts.

Performance Dates: Oct. 5 – 13, 2024

Next up is “Cavalleria Rusticana” and “Pagliacci.” “Cavalleria” stars Eve Gigliotti, Rafael Davila, Sebastian Catana, and Audrey Welsh. “Pagliacci” features Jonathan Burton, Caitlin Gotimer, Sebastian Catana, Fran Daniel Laucerica, and Ricardo Jose Rivera. Antony Walker conducts and Daniel Rigazzi directs.

The performances will take place at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts.

Performance Dates: Nov. 9 – 17, 2024

Next up is Haydn’s “Armida.” The opera stars Lauryn Davis, Fran Daniel Laucerica, Shannon Crowley, Matthew Soibelman, Shavon Lloyd, and Audrey Welsh. Antony Walker conducts and Haley Stamats directs.

This production will be presented at the Pittsburgh CAPA School Theater in downtown Pittsburgh.

Performance Dates: Jan. 25 – Feb. 2, 2025

“Madama Butterfly” will be presented at the Benedum Center for the Performing Arts. Karah Son stars alongside Nazomi Kato, Eric Taylor, Nmon Ford, and Julius Ahn. Antony Walker conducts and Matthew Ozawa directs.

Performance Dates: March 22 – 30, 2025

Jennifer Higdon and Jerre Dye’s “Woman With Eyes Closed” will get its world premiere at the Bitz Opera Factory. Lauryn Davis, Audrey Welsh, Meredith Arwady, Fran Daniel Laucerica, and Matthew Soibelman star. Kristine McIntyre directs.

Performance Dates: April 26 – May 4, 2025

The company will also bring back the Bravo Academy this coming season as well as the Annual Diamond Horseshoe Celebration, the Fashion Show, and the Maecenas XL. There will also be a Rising Stars concert on Sept. 15, 2024 and Song Shop Concerts throughout the season.
