Sara Blanch Headlines Teatro Massimo’s ‘Lucia di Lammermoor’

The Teatro Massimo di Palermo is set to stream a performance of Donizetti’s “Lucia Di Lammermoor.”

The stream, which will be held on May 22, will be conducted by  Roberto Abbado and will star Sara Blanch in the title role.

The cast will also include Davide Luciano as Enrico, Celso Albelo as Edgardo, and Alex Esposito as Raimondo. Ludovico Rajata directs the performance.

Blanch has performed more than 27 operatic roles and best known for her Norina in “Don Pasquale,” Lucia, Matilde in “Matilde di Shabran,” Fiorilla in “Il turco in Italia,” Adina in “L’elisir d’amore,” Königin der nacht in “Die Zauberflöte,” and Adèle in “Le Comte Ory.”

The Teatro Massimo recently presented a production of “Ernani” with Eleonora Buratto, Dvorak’s Mass in D Major as well as several concert performances.
