Santa Fe Opera Announces Members Of It’s 2019 Season Apprentice Program For Singers

Santa Fe Opera has announced the 42 new members of its 2019 Season Apprentice Program for Singers. Members were selected from a pool of over a thousand applicants by Program Director Gayletha Nichols and Head of Music Staff Robert Tweten.

According to the press release, the program is meant to provide “training, performance opportunities and international exposure to young singers in transition from academic to professional life,” and has produced alumni who have gone on to have distinguished careers in opera, including Joyce DiDonato, Michael Fabiano, Brandon Jovanovich, and Susanna Phillips.

Participants will appear in the fully-staged “Apprentice Showcase Scenes” on Aug. 11 & 18, 2019, in addition to taking part in Santa Fe Opera’s mainstage productions. They will have the opportunity to “work with renowned voice faculty and audition for opera executives from major companies including the Canadian Opera Company, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Dallas Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera, Seattle Opera and Washington National Opera.”

The 2019 members are as follows:

Sopranos Danielle Beckvermit, Regina Ceragiolo, Cheyanne Coss, Sylvia D’Eramo, Mary-Hollis Hundley, Grace Kahl, Hayan Kim, Jana McIntyre, Sunwoo Park, and Ann Toomey.

Mezzo-Sopranos Katherine Beck, Gillian Lynn Cotter, Katherine DeYoung, Ruby Dibble, Kate Farrar, Leia Lensing, Kaitlyn McMonigle, Gina Perregrino, Kathleen Reveille, and Elizabeth Sarian.

Tenors Bille Bruley, Alec Carlson, Anthony Ciaramitaro, Ricardo Garcia, Duke Kim, Elliott Paige, Angel Romero, Robert Stahley, Justin Stolz, Joseph Tancredi, and Eric Taylor.

Baritones Ian Burns, Will Hughes, Jarrett Logan Porter, and Benjamin Taylor.

Bass-Baritones Alan Higgs, Seunyung Kim, Andrew Moore, and Tyler Zimmerman.

Basses Cory McGee, William Meinert, and Brent Michael Smith.
