Salzburg Festival Announces Major Cast Change for ‘Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno’

The Salzburg Festival has announced that soprano Regula Mühlemann will appear in Händel’s “Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno.”

Mühlemann will step in for Mélissa Petit, who per a press release, is stepping down from the role of Bellezza.

Mühlemann, who made her Salzburg Festival debut in 2012 in “Das Labryinth,” will join a cast that includes Cecilia Bartoli, Lawrence Zazzo, and Charles Workman. The work will be conducted by Gianluca Capuano and directed by Robert Carsen. The work also features choreography by Rebecca Howell, dramaturgy by Ian Burton, and sets and costumes by Gideon Davey.

The performers will be accompanied by Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco.

The work opens on August 4, 2021 and runs until the 17th.
