Saioa Hernández, Pretty Yende, Clémentine Margaine & Erwin Schrott Lead Chorégies d’Orange’s 2022 Season

Les Chorégies d’Orange Festival has announced its 2022 slate, featuring two operas and international stars.

For the purpose of this article we will focus on vocal performances only.

Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore” spotlights René Barbera as Nemorino, Andrzej Filończyk as Belcore, Erwin Schrott as Dulcamara, Anna Nalbandiants as Giannetta, and Pretty Yende as Adina. Giacomo Sagripanti conducts a production by Adriano Sinivia.

Performance date: July 8, 2022

Beethoven’s “Missa Solemnis” will star Patricia Petibon, Marie-Nicole Lemieux, Cyrille Dubois, and Nicolas Courjal alongside conductor John Nelson, Chœur des Grandes Écoles, Chœur de Grenelle, Chœur de la Sorbonne, Chœur Stella Maris, Laudate Deum en chœur de chambre, and Le Motet.

Performance date: July 14, 2022

Soprano Angélique Boudeville, mezzo-soprano Lucie Peyramaure, and tenor Sahy Ratia will give a recital alongside pianist Kira Parfeevets.

Performance date: July 16, 2022

Nuit Italienne” will feature the Chorus of the Teatro alla Scala alongside conductor Riccardo Chailly and Chorus Master Alberto Malazzi.

Performance date: July 20, 2022

Clémentine Margaine portrays Laura, Fabio Sartori interprets Enzo Grimaldi, Amartüvshin Enkhbat sings Barnaba, and Saioa Hernández is set to star in the title role of Jean-Louis Grinda’s production of Ponchielli’s “La Gioconda.” The cast also includes Marianne Cornetti, Alexander Vinogradov, Jean-Marie Delpas, and Jean Miannay. Daniele Callegari conducts.

The festival opens on June 20, and runs through Aug. 6, 2022.
