Sabbioneta Chamber Opera Festival Announces 2026 Programming

The 2026 Sabbioneta Chamber Opera Festival – “Residencies” announces its programming.
The Festival aims to guide young singers and musicians towards their debut through a program of advanced artistic development. Participants are mentored through auditions, and engage in an intense study, rehearsal, and stylistic development program under the guidance of industry professionals. Andrea Castello is the Artistic Director.
The first program features the Mozart and the Da Ponte Trilogy. Barbara Frittoli guides the singers with Beppi Morassi and Prof. Franco Fussi joining the faculty. Alessandro Vitiello conducts the Orchestra dei Colli Morenici.
Performance Date: May 9-13, 2026
Sara Mingardo leads the singers in Monteverdi’s “Orpheus.” Cesare Scarton is stage director. The opera is accompanied by an orchestra of ancient instruments.
Performance Date: May 11-15, 2026
The Festival culminates with a concert performance of Monteverdi’s “ L’Orfeo.”
