The Scotland National Orchestra has announced a cast change for its performances of Verdi’s “Requiem” on Nov. 6 and 7, 2026.

The orchestra said, “We’re sorry to share that due to illness, soloist mezzo-soprano Deniz Uzun has had to withdraw from our Verdi Requiem concerts this weekend.”

As a result, Irene Roberts will step in at very short notice.

Roberts is a mezzo-soprano who has performed all over the world at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Opéra national de Lorraine and the Opéra de Dijon, the Dutch National Opera, the Macerata Opera Festival, San Francisco Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera.

The mezzo will join a cast that includes Jennifer Davis, Mario Lerchenberger, Edwin Crossley-Mercer. Patrick Hahn conducts.
