Royal Opera House Muscat Announces Events Leading Up To ‘La Bohème’

The Royal Opera House Muscat has released a lineup of events in celebration of its upcoming production of “La Bohème.”

Activities begin on April 23 with the Middle East’s first showing of the “La Bohème” film directed by Mario Martone. Prior to the showing a short talk with the RAI TV team and Martone is scheduled for 6:30 pm. The Movie Night at ROHM kick-starts three weeks of educational activities surrounding Puccini’s masterpiece, culminating in the opera’s staging on the 16th and 18th May 2024. The opera La Bohème, a co-production between Monte Carlo Opera and ROHM will welcome leading opera singers including Mariangela Sicilia, Liparit Avetisyan, Hasmik Torosyan, and Riccardo Zanellato and will be accompanied by the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by the immensely talented, Leonardo Sini.

Cast members Jessica Nuccio, Noemi Muschetti, Eldin Ragaa, Michele Patti, Francesco Bossi, Eugenio Di Lieto, and pianist Andrea Dindo give a pre-performance lunchtime concert at the Opera Galleria on May 11.

The Royal Opera House Muscat presents “La Bohème” on May 16 and 18. Sini conducts the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana and Monte Carlo Opera Choir.

Outside of the main “La Bohème” program of activities, the Opera House will also stage an “Homage to Maria Callas” with baritone Leo Nucci and soprano Sonya Yoncheva. The duo along with Leonardo Sini who leads the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana will guide the audience on a journey through Callas’s iconic repertoire. This concert takes place May 15 at 7:30 pm.
